Funny how the younger gamers tend to claim that the FF series is okay right now. I guess that when you grow up next to some of the worst games in the series you might think that they're good but only because you don't know or understand what the series was originally about.

While the quality of the ff games varied from 4-9, they were what made and defined Final Fantasy .

And then came FF X. Different game mechanics, no exploration and the beginning of "go from point A to point B" in the series. And those god damned spin-offs. Sure, FF X still had that one redeeming feature: a very nice and engaging story. But 3 games later there's not even that. I don't understand how people can even call THAT GARBAGE in ff 13 a story.

I understand people have different tastes and respect that. But younger gamers have to understand that the ff games created from the ps2 era till now suck balls by the earlier series standards, and badly at that.

Seriously, instead of making a ff7 remake, they should make a ff 6 remake. Now that would be something worth buying.

I played my first final fantasy on NES, when I was like 4, (didn't understand it or play it much obviously.) then I played 8 when it came out, then I went back and played all of them. And I love 13, and I love the old ones. You're lumping everyone together, and saying everyone has opinion, but the ps2 ones past suck balls which is an opinion but you're saying it like it is a fact when it is not.

. Final fantasy's always had spinoff's. Or using the name to rebrand other games, such as saga being called final fantasy legends.

Imo the battle system's have improved significantly as the series has gone on. While it can be said that FFX was a step back in gameplay form a certain point of view IE point A to B. FFX-2, is completely the opposite and you can go anywhere right from the start. As well as FFXII being the most open non-linear final fantasy game (I didn't particularly like this game either). because, instead of a world map you are in the world the whole time, (unless you take a airship) and you can take different paths to get to different places. Things to do everywhere.

The same can be said about FFVI's story oriented being a step back for the series compared to final fantasy V job mechanics (which is why 5 is my favorite 2D final fantasy). Yet, people prefer different things, because more people here prefer FFVI even though the mechanics are less complicated that 5.
