I think you have a valid point.

That being said, this has always been the way Nintendo runs their business. Their first party titles are good, beloved and timeless. So they release new consoles and handhelds and rehash those games. Sometimes they are all out new games with familiar characters, and other times they are simply remakes of older games. Since it has always brought them success, and in recent years A LOT of success, there is no reason in the forseeable future that I think they will change how they operate their business.
