A lot of companies know by slating Halo Reach they will get free advertising. People will visit their site to read the bad review rather then go and read every 100% score. Reading some of the lower score reviews it is obvious that is what a few have done. A few of them are genuine scores too. It would not surprise me one bit to see Reach get a 7 score from someone.
The only review that should matter is your own. We live in a world now where sites review games on a lot of different external factors rather then just the game itself. Some think they should get a free weekend in some hotel and some think they should get some special treatment. Very few places these day's review the games and score them totally on just the game. The only place i tend to agree with is Eurogamer. A 9/10 score from them is a massive score. Too many games this gen have got 9 or 10's when they didn't deserve them.
