Nintendo is one comapny that has succeded for ages at this. Japan in a majority is failing and if all it took was Nintendo to Globalize.. I dont think Wada would be making this statement. actually add something.

Its because others only look at Nintendo at a superficial level, its why you get things like Move and Kinect, rather than understanding Nintendo at a  deeper level, its strategy and company philosophy
