Lol, if those are your supposed "noble" intentions, clean up the immature eltitist mentality and stupid wording. Steam already has the RPG crowd, anyways, well before New Vegas. Steam has Mass Effect 1 & 2, Torchlight, The Witcher, and many more RPG games. Features wise, Steam is still well behind things like GFWL/Xbox Live, though. Until Steam has party chat, better universal achievement support and rankings, and better matchmaking services it is only going to be the top in DD. |
They don't have the RPG crowd. While Steam makes amazing sales on RPGs, and they no doubt sell well, the truth is that no RPG has ever used Steam as their DRM on retail copies (which is the real way to get the RPG crowd). Fallout: New Vegas will be the first big RPG to use Steam for their retail copies.
As for the last part, Steam is widely considered the greatest DD service ever:
Several ways to communicate that XBL/PSN don't have. While it doesn't have party chat, it has good instant messaging, including even be able to invite other people to join their games with the push of a button (even if they're not playing the game).
It has well done achievements system, you can even see how many people have gotten a certain achievement.
No gamerscores!! That's a plus. Gamerscores are pointless because they do nothing. They don't tell you that you play better than others.
