Has your PS3 ever died or needed repair?

I've used a 40GB phat model which I've had for 2-3 and with 0 problems.
I bought a new slim model 4 or so months ago which hasn't had any problems.

I haven't owned a BC model but I've heard that they are much more susceptible to fail.
