Yes, it took me a lot also to adopt DVD, then, like now, I wanted to be able to afford at least a writer on my PC before switching to it.
Even now, for the living room a BD player + DVD-HDD recorder will be a good solution for me when it will be cheap, but this time even if BD recorder for PC won't be cheap too yet, as given the current situation I won't start downloading BD sized contents so soon, even if telcos keep on increasing maximum nominal speed, in my road lines are so rotten that max speed possible is still 8Mbps, but after heavy rains, speed furtherly drops and there are continuous hiccups until everything is dry.
