So this means I don't even have to buy a Wii to enjoy the next Zelda in 3-D?!

Correct...just the game. *cough!* And then you need to download it to play it...*double cough!*

But how can the graphics be so much better? Normally if I emulate something, let's say an Amiga game in 640x480 it doesn't upscale the res, it just shows the same amount of pixels spread out on a bigger area (like, say 1920x1200 with black borders on the sides)

Thats only true for 2D games that use sprites. 3D games render the polygons in whatever resolution you want them to.

I really don't know how these guys are doing it with emulation and upscaling the textures...but a lot of what I saw in metroid prime 3 was very nice at 1080p. Like the game was made in 1080p/widescreen in mind.

Compare these 2 videos to see the difference:

Wii emulator footage (view at 1080p) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFu3p9n2jR8&feature=related

Wii footage (view at 480p - fast forward to 5:50) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAxeQ-wS7d4

But m8, texts on HUDs aren't made of polygons and neither are textures. Yet the HUD text is ultra sharp and clearly not 480p in the emulator footage.

Technical things aside, it's amazing. Can't wait for Zedla 3-D. Even that Mario Bros Wii in HD looked kinda fun even though I hate Matrio. I'd play that just for spite, for the lols.
