And Xenogears isn't nearly alone in telling a superior story. Xenogears, the Xenosaga trilogy, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and Radical Dreamers are all in an entirely different league to anything else out there, with the leagues below it being populated by other JRPGs with the odd exception such as Lost or Mulholland Dr. or Metal Gear Solid. Planescape: Torment is at best a 6th tier story.
