PS2 is pretty much dead and I blame Sony.

Yes, yes... we all understand Sony is incredible. But you've also missed the point.

I'm talking about how the life of the PS2 could have been prolonged. It could still be alive and kicking if Sony supported it on the PS3.

The PS2 was ideal for low budget core projects that would be considered unacceptable for the PS3 standards. It seems like the Xbox 360 has now become the ideal console for such projects.

um Mr. Puggsly I see your point in the with this hypothetical.

However is the reason why you see the xbox 360 a better platform for low budget core projects, is because it's easier to develop for (according to developers) than the PS3. Because, Record of Agarest war is an example of a ps2 graphically quality game and it's on ps3 and xbox360 I believe. But that's only 1 example
