Well if a games goes greatest hits, I think it's safe to say they made a profit.

That's what I was thinking as well.

I'd take Heavenly Sword for example; it's one of PS3's eariliest games and yet it's still full price at retailers (at least in Canada) because Ninja Theory still hasn't made profit.

Not true. There's no connection like that. They don't drop price just because a game broke even.

Not saying they're automatically going to drop the price once they break even or else MW wouldve been cheap after day 1 lol.  Im just saying for Heavenly Sword's reason for still being at full price to this day is because Ninja Theory still hasnt break even though.  Forgot where i read that article, but its just one way to notice if a game broke even.  Doesnt mean it's going to happen to every game though nor all devs follow that routine.

lol

I think there's some truth to what your saying, that it sometimes can be a sign if a game broke even or not. But Im almost ready to say that it's the other way around  - all these games that you see hit the bargain bins quickly are usually failures and didn't meet sales estimates and therefore didn't make profit (Unreal Tournament 3, Prince of Persia, Alone in the Dark, Stranglehold, Haze, Mirrors Edge etc). While a profitable game keeps it's launch price for a longer time (Blizzard and Bethesda games come to mind).

Actually ive come to think of it that there's alot more truth to yours.  Heavenly Sword was just an exception lol.  If i recalling reading the 'requirements' to becoming a PS3 Greatest Hits, some games that went GH didnt even reach it.  I think Warhawk was one.

I wish they followed the requirements so when i look at a GH game i'd know that they're GH because they're successful.  But now when imma look at a GH game im going to question that game's success. (Unless its an obvious game that did amazing sales lol)
