BTW... what happend to the GTX 300 series? did I miss a gen?

(soo glad I didn't wait till spring for my PC... since apparently nvidia didn't deliver)

About 3 months after the 40nm 2xx parts were released, Nvidia rebranded all of the them to 3xx parts (210, 220, 240 to 310, 320, 340). They also created a new G92 based part, the GT 330. Nothing added, no new member of the series, just increment them by 100 in model number. Oh, and the 330 outperforms the 340.

So this new series was released as 400 to avoid confusing it with the inferior 300 series. Expect at least three derivatives (GF104, GF108 and one other) branded as Geforce 430, 440, 450, and another GF100 derivative as the GTX 460.
