Huh? I saw nothing indicating "Nokia sales dropping like a rock lately". Do you care to provide a proof link? Their sales last quarter increased, and one could argue only that the increase was smaller than for the rest of the market, and that's what I could agree with. As for Samsung, they're making android phones as well as handsets based on winmo, symbian, and their own platform bada, that's their way of strategy.

than they state this much later in the 2009 year:

Nokia "not prepared" for smartphone onslaught; could sell its handset business.

now this does not mean they could not fix this problem, but when Nokia stated this they may infact be sending out feeler's to see who would be willing to bite.

one only has to look what happend to Palm now.
