no, they would be an above average developer. Sony is in hardware because they have their hands in so many sectors of the electronic world and they use it to their advantage. Software is not their strong point even though they do have some strong software. They are not even running a very profitable software business right now if they can't make up for the shrinking losses on PS3 hardware. If they weren't trying to show off the hardware to sell systems that games might not be as amazing anymore, and Sony wouldn't be willing to spend so much money for that reason.
