I'm really happy Heavy Rain is successful since it means we'll probably get other great games like HR in the same genre. I think HR is the real evolution of old school adventure point and click games and we really needed a game like this one.
Now there are some things which can be improved in execution, like the way voices were captured, or the scenario if David Cage totally handles this part to real professional writers.
Overall, I think HR is a nice step in the right direction for video games. The final product is something Cage can be proud of, and sales definitely show those games have a potential.
The next perfect move would be Sony buying Quantic Dream, or at least QD making a bigger budget game in the same genre than HR.
