I wouldn't say too small, just too empty. I say same size with more things to do in that area. Larger Hyrule if needed.

Hyrule town wasn't that good in TP... not enough houses you could actually enter, not enough secrets or interesting people... yeah, a bit empty, that's it.

Precisely. A good example in A Link to the Past. Every pixel of that game world was used (and interesting), and it was still a massive world.

I wouldn't really call Link to the Past 'massive'.  I mean, most of the 2D games that followed it were bigger in map size.  The thing that made it seem big was the fact that there was 2 versions of the world, but the actual size of the world wasn't that big.

But yeah, a lot of Twilight Princess seemed to be about focusing on how everything looked, but not really about how you interacted with it.  I mean, one good example with this was, there was a lot of forced camera angles.  Especially in Hyrule Town and Zora's Domain.  It made you feel like you couldn't even see half of the areas you were looking at, let alone get to them.  And this makes the actual 'exploration' aspect very limiting.  Not to mention it was very limiting as at least half the game was pretty much set paths of jumping to ledges or walking in confined spaces.  A very big change from the previous 3D Zeldas known for their wide open spaces and 'exploration'.  And the exact opposite of what the game looked like it was trying to encourage you to do....

This is one of the major things I hope Zelda WIi will fix.  More open areas and more emphasis on 'exploration' and less emphasis on 'story' and 'guiding the player'.
