I did exactly the same thing as the OP but I wouldn't go as far as making a thread on here. As someone who was always disappointed with Playstations (thanks to the overhyping of certain games) I no longer have to buy a system for two games (FF and Pro Evo)
The PS3 probably already more games I like then the previous two but still not enough to make me want to get one. Just my opinion! But I have a feeling that after GT5 their next move to keep momentum or get it back would be to put PS2 backwards capability back in. That may be the time to get one and all the games I want will be cheap :D
