What kitase said in the last part of the interview begs the question whether a remake will be a playstation exclusive or not. You can't create a more "complete" form of final fantasy VII if the less capable console is holding back the game from its technical potential. In this case the xbox 360 (if a remake gets released before the end of this gen).
I assume what he means of a "more complete form of final fantasy VII" includes ingame advent children graphics, more realistic animations and facial expressions, midgar scale environments, high definition towns, etc.
