This past E3, Microsoft have 2 surprises in Forza 3 and L4D2 set for release in Fall 2009. Forza 3 was hinted and was known in development but no one expect a Fall 2009 release, just a little over 2 years after Forza 2.
L4D2 was a total secret surprise. No one even thought it would be ready, yet it is coming in less than 3 weeks.
So what does Microsoft have cooking for us at next year's E3?
Here are my best bets.
1. Gears of War 3. Of course we know this game is in development. First 2 games sold a combined 10 million plus. The second game came just 2 years after the original, so it may very well come out in Fall 2010.
2. Killer Instinct 3. RARE keep teasing us with this game and what better time to release this classic fighter than with the launch of Natal in Fall 2010. Also, fighting games are slowly making a comeback with Street Fighter 4 and Tekken 6 selling pretty good.
3. I can't think of anything else.
X360 already have a great 2010 lineup with Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, Crackdown 2, Fable 3, Halo Reach and the Natal hype train going on.
But if they added 1 or 2 more AAA big game(s) and have another Final Fantasy 13 megaton in their bag, then it will be just sweet.
