OT: PS1 for me I think, but its a tough call between that and PS3. But PS1 started a lot of game franchises and I really enjoyed the games that came out on it (although it has aged horribly). Let's see, franchises that started on PS1:
Resident Evil
Silent Hill
Tomb Raider
Metal Gear Solid (I know, Metal Gear was on NES, but this was the first 3D game)
Gran Turismo
TOCA (Now Race Driver/GRID)
Tekken
Not to mention the Final Fantasy games it had, or the fact that it introduced me to JRPGs.
