You'll waste a lot of money in your life if you shop for everything that way. Maybe that's who MS is hoping to pray on, the uninformed shopper that doesn't realize they have cheaper alternatives to the official products MS puts out. |
I got my Elite in Dec 2007... at the time it was going for $450 regularly, and I got it at Toys R Us with a $50 coupon that I scored online... so I payed $399 for an Elite special edition holiday bundle, complete with Forza 2/Marvel Ultimate Heroes packed in, an HDMI cable plus standard cables, headset, and 120GB HDD at a time when the Pro model was still going for $350 with a 20GB HDD, and the 120GB HDD alone was selling for $150.
I also scored a 13 month XBL gold card for $30 and COD4 for $40 at Best Buy the same day.... so all told I spent $470 + tax for a 360 Elite, 3 games, and over a year of XBL, and that was almost 2 years ago.... back when the base PS3 model was still $499!
I'd call that some pretty savvy shopping on my part

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
