Offhand, Isaac from Dead Space and Gordon Freeman from HL come to mind.

Giving a bit of thought, Mario, in the RPGs is pretty silent (and hilarious in SMRPG, when he acts everything out), and in the platformers doesn't say much beyond "It's-a me, Mario" and "So long King Bowser".
