EDIT: And for the record, on the subject of you mocking me being an 'IT Tech', my official title is Network Engineer. I am personally and exclusively responsible for the complete management and maintenance of 17 small businesses networks in the Atlanta area, one of which has 20 locations (leasing offices distributed through the area and down into Columbus, Albany & Savannah). I manage and maintain everything from the desktop PCs (Windows 2000, XP & Vista), helpdesk calls, Active Directory (server 2000, 2003, and 2008), MS Excahnge (2003 & 2007), Microsoft SQL Server (2000 & 2005), Sharepoint Services, IIS Web Services, Group Policy design for granular security management of all PCs, Windows Server Update services to keep all PCs up to date from a central location, and use VMWare ESX/ESXi for Hypervisor hardware virtualization. In addition, I have implemented an automated set of maintenance routines that keep the number of crashes and bugs on all of these machines very low. I also manage a centralized monitoring solution called Managed Workplace that monitors all PCs I am responsible for everything from hard disk problems to security breaches to viruses (and MUCH more). In addition, designed & manage several IPSec VPN topologies to connect my clients that have multiple locations (including the one with 20 branch offices). I also implement DFS (distributed file system) replication to replicate shared data across multiple servers for many of my customers. I am very successful at what I do, and I take serious issue with you calling me a liar and questioning my integrity. It was both childish and pathetic.

Your reaction is actually the typical one from the shills, so you'll be shocked to know I'm not a bit surprised, it just conforts what I strongly believed, now I'm sure of it.

And I don't mock IT Tech, and I'm sure you're very good at what you do, that wasn't what I implied. I just mock the excuse given for setting the landscape of your "syndrome of false authority". Unfortunately like I said I know this field perfectly well and am not in the least impressed by these lies, sorry.

I'll pass on the obvious inconsistencies, like a Network Engineer that works on MS Exchange or SQL Server or Sharepoint, ... LOL. Seriously!

Of course, no fellow shills have nothing to counter my argument, as they don't have any knowledge of the field themselves. And for the record, you started it, but I will have to call you a liar, as long as you don't explain to me how you managed to run a WinXP OS 24/7/365 since 7 years without ever rebooting, and still applying patches and making them work. Your fellow shills should also justify themselves as to why they support such obvious BS. Such a setup, even if true, will be a zombie slave in less than 1 second (let's say 3 to be perfectly safe) as soon as it's connected to the Internet, guaranted.

For the record, even MS uses Unix systems for their information systems, and as frontals against intrusion. They don't even think their own OS is able to support mission criticals tasks. You're better than MS sir. The guru I know is better than them too, but even him couldn't do feats like yours. And he used FreeBSD based and Linux based systems for the security of the Windows boxes LOL.

 

Well, on topic, it seems like, completely in agreement to everything I said, that in Europe, we won't even be able to install Windows 7 without wiping out the previous OS. In 2009, while other OS do it without any problem. Just because MS is mad at the EU, they don't hesitate to screw the customers. No surprise there, and now I'm sure this OS is still the same shit as before, as MS policies are still the exact same as before. But I will be exposed to Windows 7 sooner or later at work, so I don't worry I will be able to test it. And I bet it will be the same bad OS as ever. The last one was Vista. It was the best thing since sliced bread too.

You in essence called me a liar in your first post, and I take offense to that. I see that to be just as bad an insult and a direct attack on my character. You, sir, appear to most level headed members as more of a 'shill' than me. I am perfectly able to see the benefits of Linux, and have actually used it as a web and file server in both my home and in the business arena. Linux is a very solid and respectable platform in its many distributions, but is just too niche for me. I am not tied to one platform just because of the name behind it. I also understand those who use MAC OSX, as it's a very pretty, solid OS all around. Just because I prefer Windows 7 and think it's a good OS does not make me a shill. I don't have a problem with other OS's, I just have a personal preference for Windows (with eception to Vista, it was not up to par). Your lunatic rant in your first post showed you to be an inconsiderate individual with no respect for my opinion, which I have a right to. I have neither insulted you or your platform in any of these discussions, but you have done both to me. In this matter, you have shown yourself for who you are, and I refuse to answer any more of your posts. It is a waste of my time, as you clearly have no ability to see anything beyond your own lofty point of view.

EDIT: And I already explained how I kept this machine running without crashes for this long (if you had bothered to read that). Simple junk file cleanup, registry cleaning, & defrag, along with not being stupid with the thing while on the web is how I did it. And I never said it was never rebooted. I said no CRASHES. Of course it reboots automatically at times for Windows Updates, but this happens at 3AM while I'm sleeping. I've not actually powered this machine off except to move it during that time, it's always on. I also don't run any virus protection on the computer and still no viruses.
