I don't remember Half Life 2 taking more than 20 hours to complete the first time.. maybe 15 max. Episode 1 was a joke at about 4-5 hours, but Episode 2 thankfully had a more beefier 8-9 hour campaign.

Fallout 3... a little over 40 hours just for the main quest, but probably a good 80-100 for all major quests.
Gears 2... bout 10-12 hours.
Paper Mario... 25-30 hours.
Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door... 40 hours (must have for any GC collection!)
CoD4 and W@W... bout 8 hours on hardened difficulty.
Resident Evil 4... 20 hours.
Contra... less than 20 mins if you don't suck!
