No, I didn't like Eternal Darkness.

The story was unengaging and I didn't find interest in it. The gameplay was pretty boring as well. The combat was archaic to say the least and I didn't find myself in awe or enjoyment of anything. I finished it because I didn't want my money to go to waste, but after I did complete it, I left it abandoned in a cardboard box, never to be used again.

People kept going on about how great it was but I found it boring and uninspiring. Nostalgia of that 2002 game is blurring their vision because besides the Sanity effects, it was pointless for me to play. I could've bought something else with my $10, so yes it seriously was not worth it.

Don't mistake people having fun with a game you found un-fun as "nostalgia [...] blurring their vision". I played Eternal Darkness again a few weeks ago and it was still fantastic. I don't take issue with you not liking it, we all have different tastes, but don't go so far as to call my taste into question.

No need to take offense. I wasn't insulting anyone. It was just an occasion where  I thought people were discussing "yea, I used to play that!", but then when they go back to play said game, it was was underwhelming.  It is kind of a "you have to be there thing" where a kid wouldn't see how good Ocarina of Time is now because of the graphics or something, but if here was there in 1998 he/she may have loved it.

It was weird for me, because I wasn't sure if these people and I were playing  the same game. Everyone loved it, BUT me, and I am usually down to try almost any type of game. Guess it just was too little too late or something. I don't know, I just didn't like it.
