Graphics are not that important to me but yes developers seem to have stepped up in this regard, probably seeing how important Wii is now.
For me great graphics is a plus, not the most important aspect of a game. My favorite games are still from SNES and while I love the graphics in some of those games it´s really dated by today´s standard.
