Wow, didnt see this one coming from FishyJoe.

And for those interested in the truth and not hatred for all things sony.......there is no proof that it is BD+ causing these issues and it is an isolated issue with 3 players.....and for those who care, the CE's have admitted they need firmware, thus any intelligent person should understand that if only select hardware experiences problems it is not a BD+ issue....and it has a better chance to be a java issue than BD+ according to insiders and those who know what theyre talking about.

So, no one knows if it is due to BD+ or not, and the manufacturers have announed firmware is on the way to correct it.....it is not a BD+ issue at this point.

But it is a BD issue. BD is the entity that updates its DRM and cuases a player to not read newer discs properly. I remember reading about the dangers of this happening months ago when BD players first released. There was a long article on Ars or another tech site explaining why this is a bad idea and forcasting the very situation we're seeing now. Leaving firmware updates to individual companies is a terrible in general consumer electronics like this. Shit, most people don't even know how to update their computer firmware, yet they're expected to know how to update a set-top device?

It may not be a PS3 problem but it sure as shit is a BD problem. Having people buy a mainstream movie like Fantastic Four and then having it not play in their $700+ BD player is not the way to win a format war or gain consumer confidence in a product.
