I use to be a big PC gamer but I finally realized consoles were just much easier too.

Yes, Shio, I'm sure I don't scrub my computer with a cloth every day and give it a good blasting of air every time I sit down, but I do take decent care of my machines and PC gaming is still a hassle.

With consoles, the games just work when I pop in the disk and I like that. As an added bonus I get to play games on my comfy couch with a controller on my big TV as opposed to in my crapy office chair on my smallish monitor with a keyboard and mouse (I'm a left so setting up the keyboard is a hassle every time). It's also just an initial investment vs. initial investment plus upkeep over the years followed by another initial investment when it's about time to get a new console anyways.

I could have my PC in my living but then I would have the wife breathing down my neck about their being a computer in the living room or I would either have to hook it all up to play games and then unhook it all again when I'm done which is just unacceptable.

I get that some people love PC with all their heart and that's cool but PC gaming has long been dead to me.

To me, there are just no advantages what-so-ever to PC gaming.

Strike that, I forgot about modding and making my own maps, that's about the only one-up PC games have for me.  Other than that, it's dead to me.

You forgot cheaper games, free extra content and not having to pay to play online. Without doubt consoles are simpler but a simple machine doesn't allow you complete control of your system.

I only started PC gaming properly in '06 (buying a GPU instead of hoping it works) and have been with Steam ever since. Maybe times were much harder in the old days but I've found everything extremely straight forward, including setting it up to work with my HDTV so I can play from the infamous "couch" with wireless mouse, keyboard, 360 pad.

I'll give you cheaper games, but you don't have to pay for Live and PSN/Wii are both free and do I really need complete control to play Gears, inFamous, Uncharted, LBP, Mario Kart, or most of the other console games?  No, I just need to pop in the disk and go.  I don't have to fiddle with drive space, shortcuts, resolution settings, graphical settings, and everything else.

And again, it may work for the college guy/bachalor/12 year old to have a giant PC in his living room, but for most other people it doesn't really fly.

The problem: you either don't take good care of your computer, or you are using Vista.

My PC only crashes once every 6 months too. PC gaming is getting so much easier, hell, in someways even easier than consoles.

Why do you think there are now over 300 millions PC gamers?

Everyone has a PC and piracy is extremely easy?

PC sucks, period. It gets one good exclusive in 2 years, there is no reason to own a gaming PC.

Actually HD consoles are the biggest waste of money I´ve seen. They half-ass PC features and as a result get half-ass games which aren´t as good as games that came out on the PC 5 years ago or more. Talk about pathetic.

Actually, PC games are the half assed ones.  In order to release a game on a console you have to go through a lengthy and in depth dertification process while there is absolutely no process for the PC.
