Ever lost many hours put into a game because of the game's design?

wow, that sucks.

I think I've got stuck once playing a freeware adventure game, That Night Before, years ago. And IIRC, I also got stuck in The Pagemaster. obviously I never played them again (well, I tried to play Pagemaster again but it was buggy in XP)
