Hacked from what angle? If it means to enable pirating, well Blu-Ray is a big block for that. If it means to be modified to allow homebrew stuff, Sony allowed you to install Linux on the machine. End result is that people are likely installing Linux and playing there. Also, there is a cost factor. It is less expensive to get a Wii or 360, or even PSP and tinker around the insides.
