I think the price is certainly a factor. Perhaps the unreliability of the 360 helped some modders in meddling around as they probably picked up a lot of consoles dirt cheap that were RROD in the consoles early lifespan and fixed them. Both the Wii and 360 were pretty much hacked for piracy due to flaws not fixed in their security system in the last generation. Getting the 360 to run homebrew code is still above the ability of most of last generations previous modders.

Finally the PS3 I think did have some attention diverted from the cause by the ability to run Linux without any form of hack from the start. It was probably one of the more clever things Sony did on the PS3 and they should be applauded for it. Even if the PS3 is hacked, piracy will not be as big as on the other two consoles due to Bluray replication costs. That is of course assuming some clever individual doesn't figure out how to run a game from the HDD (probably impossible given Sony's security).
