4. RE doesn't, nor ever has sucked. Not yet at least. Not the main series. In fact, so far, it has been one of the very few series' that have gotten better with each installment. 1, 2, 3, CV, 4. With the exception of 3 and 0, those games are just about in order of quality from least to greatest.
5. Without RE4, nobody would give half a shit about this game, most likely. Remember the last Silent Hill game? Me neither. RE4, by most accounts(and most importantly mine) was a masterpiece. RE3 wasn't. Now you want RE3 back? It's a joke, honestly. There is no accounting for tastes. However, let me recommend you replay one of your favorite games, Dino-Crisis, and leave RE5 to those such as myself, whom have yerned for ambience and atmosphere since the last damn game raped our minds.
