Wait a second, Sonic on Wii might be the best 3d sonic in a while but it was still a half ass game, you basically ran through the same 8 levels doing different boring things if they hadn't gone that way and made a whole game with more levels and not so much repetition it could have been very good.

The next Wii sonic game could be great based on the core of the Secret Rings game, Red Steel is atrocious and Rabbids is an ok game but that's not the kind of game that really stands out (especially next to Warioware), same applies to Super Monkey Balls. We don't know much about Nights and boogie yet so claiming that those are gonna be great is just premature.

There aren't any big 3rd party games being announced for the Wii yet, all the games previously mentioned are secondary games for those respective companies. By big games I mean the kind of projects like Mass Effect or Lair, big epic games (or at least attempts at them, won't know how good these are till I actually play 'em.

There is also the danger of seeing too many kids games being sent to the Wii because of its appeal to the casual gamer, add to that games that are trying to do the same thing over and over again (minigame collections, there are already too many on the Wii for this short of a time).

Until any publisher other than Nintendo actually makes use of the Wii either for big budget projects (Twilight Princess) or successfully makes a highly entertaining and well crafted game using hte Wii's unique controls  (Warioware, Wii Sports), I still won't consider the Wii having a strong 3rd party lineup...

Don't come and name me this or that game being released by other companies to prove that the 3rd party is actually strong for Wii. A large number of crappy, sub par, average or decent games doesn't make it so...

As for appealing to the mass market, games can be that and still be great games (again, Wii sports and Warioware), but we all know Nintendo does that better than anyone else and it seems to be staying that way for now.
