Do you mean Donkey Kong Country?  There's far more DK than just those made by Rare.

Well, many would consider DKC to be a separate franchise from the other DKs anyway. The original DKs were completely different than the DKC series, as are the DK Barrel games.

Much like Super Mario vs Paper Mario vs Mario Kart, etc.

I need to know whether you mean DKC, the original DKs, or what.
