Difference is that a lot of people find Lair "painful" to play because of the poor controls. MP8 was attacked for basically being the same ole same ole and really is only held up by the fact that is is fun to play. It's essentially Nintendo's EA sports title. Change very little year to year and still sell plenty (but for some reason the EA sports titles keep getting good reviews).
