What did you expect? Microsoft now owns Lionhead.

Molyneux usually says the opposite of what happens -- even when he has 100% control over the situation. This is a case of him not knowning the market well, a case of him not known Nintendo's online plans, etc.  Most Wii owners will be happy with a few multiplayer titles, especially if they're big ones.  Some of the biggest 360 titles this year (bioshock anyone) didn't even have multiplayer.

Fewer 360 owners than not use Xbox Live regularly. So if you're catering to Xbox Live users, you're catoring to a minority of your market (just like catering to HD TV owners). As far as reaching more gamers goes -- we already know which console has the largest installed base.
