I agree, but the closing of gitmo seems to be more symbolic than anything else. The US has other similar, but far less infamous centres all over the world and from the news reports I've read it isn't exactly clear what will happen with current gitmo immates. I can only assume that the immates there will be shipped off abroad. It seems like a PR move by Obama to clean up the international perception of the US more than an actual desire on his part for any sort of fundamental change.
