Brand is pretty meaningless unless your consumers buy into it.
The only performance a publicly trade third party publisher (read: most large third party publishers) care about sales performance because they're only interested in making a profit, and the decision to release a game to the system with the largest userbase is defendable if shareholders question it.
The PS3 has to sell like it is the best system inorder to become the best system ... Why is this so hard to understand?
