Diomedes1976 said: It is a bit early to say if the PS3 will sell well in Europe .It wont do bad ,thats for sure ,but if it will have powerful numbers month after month remain to be seen .The fact is it doesnt need to do so for some time ,as Wii is selling well but worse than other places (if we judge it just because there actually is a lot of stock in the shelves ) and X360 is just no selling outside of UK .This initial 2 days sales period has put the PS3 in direct relation with the X360 sales cumulated to date ,it will play catching up some time but in one or two months it will have some advantage in most markets .As for the only strong X360 market in Europe ,with some 1 million X360 sold ,that is the UK 172K in two days are strong sales ,we will see how it sells but generally brits adore Playstation ,and the media isnt so nitpicking and negative about the machine or Sony .General idea transmited by the media is "its expensive but great !" .In Japan is the same .Because of that I think that 3.2 billion campaign in viral marketing that the president of Insomniac mentioned has been spent monstly in North America .
Diomedes, maybe where you live there are plenty of Wii's in stock, but I haven't seen even 1 on a shelf here in Holland. So the situation in Europe could be different from country to country and there's no way to know for sure whether demand in the whole of Europe is smaller or bigger than in Japan or the US.
