I personally don't understand why someone would expect Europeans to react drastically different from how people in Japan and North America reacted to the PS3 ... Had Sony released 1 Million consoles to North America and 500,000 to Japan they probably would have sold out in both regions on launch day; but in the new year sales would has still dropped off (and may have dropped off faster) because it is difficult to justify a $500/$600 purchase on a videogame system without many games.
