Wii sports retails for $40 in Japan, and has sold in excess of 3 million......so that's been debunked.

The Wii also sells for $300 USD in Japan as apposed to $250.  Just goes to show the strength of the Japanese currency right now, so your debunking has been debunked.  If Japan really wants to purchase an arcade game for $20 more than it's worth, I guess that's their own choice.  Here in the US/Americas/Europe, Wii Sports and Wii Play would sell for $10.

You've got it backwards. When the Wii launched, it sold for 25000 yen in Japan, with Wii Sports priced at 4800 yen. If you're telling me the Wii is sold $300 there, then their Wii Sports price is $57. Either way, you can't worm out of this one - face it, it's not a demo disc. Whether you like it or not, people would pay full price for it.

Observe the sales of a much less popular game, Wii Music. It's priced at $50 and will probably hit 2mil sales before the end of the year. Wii Sports Resort will be a game that'll make your argument look really silly.

@ The downloaded games argument: The Wii would win this one. I'm not quite sure what Hexic HD has sold, but if we use VGC's methods, the Wii has 4 (likely 5 by now) VC games above a million.
