Samus - No.

Chrono Trigger and Gundam are both core titles that most likely won't even double sales over the rest of the week. Traditionally, games move anywhere from 50-75% of the First Day sales over the rest of the week. Except in casual games' cases, such as Animal Crossing.

Next week, the charts should look something like:

Animal Crossing ~ 450k
Chrono Trigger ~ 250k
Gundam ~ 250k
The Last Remnant ~ 140k

I really doubt your AC. SMG was 130K first day and 250K 1st week, right? Could be possible though. Hope you're right.

Anyway, all those titles open at the expected/above it. Cheers.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but SMG is far more core-driven (audience wise) than Animal Crossing. ACGC sold a scant 92,000 units its first week, on it's way to 641,000 as per Famitsu data.

With numbers like that, I think it's entirely plausible to think that 2x the first day sales is the bare minimum that ACWii is going to sell. Numbers should be between 2x (worst case) and 3x (almost best case). We've seen tons of DS games have hyper-legs even in their first week, and I feel that ACWii, since it has the stock, could do the same.

Now, I agree that Wii Music didn't have those kinds of legs - it was only 2x. But we've seen that since Wii Music has debuted, that the game did, infact, have sucky legs all together (I mean, absolutely pitiful legs for a first-party Wii title). I really don't see Animal Crossing Wii doing that. ACWii has pedigree (pun intended) that Wii Music, for all of it's hype, didn't have - in the way of being a good sequel.

Personally, 400-450k for ACWii is very likely. I'd eat my hat if it was anything below 350k.

Sounds like you're correct. 400K + in Japan alone would be a golden opening, and even higher than Wild World's. If it really opens that good, I guess we could be seeing over 1M by the end of the year (Japan only), and possibly 2M lifetime (so, on par with MKWii and Brawl)
