My notes about the sales:

  • [NDS] Chrono Trigger (Square Enix) - 176k (46%) - Not as impressive as I thought it'd be. Nowhere near the other SE remakes as of late. Should hit ~250k for first week..That'd make it Square's worst-selling SNES remake. Very suprised considering how sacred CT is in the West.
  • [PSP] Kidou Senshi Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam (Bandai Namco) - 150k (60%) - Very good. Should hit at least 225k first week, and could even hit 250-260k between both this, and the premium version(s). That's well above SD Gundam G's opening at 150k. Could hit 500,000 by the time it's done selling.
  • [WII] Animal Crossing: City Folk (Nintendo) - 117k (23%) - Initially unimpressed...Until I saw there was another version that didn't get included here. Pretty good first day numbers. Should hit 400k or more before the week is out. My main question is: Why did retailers order so many copies? Could it bomb in their eyes? Retailers ordered 750,000 copies between both versions, which is an insane number of games. Should easily be #1 this week, and become Nintendo's next million seller in Japan.
  • [360] The Last Remnant (Square Enix) - 79k (61%) [excludes HW bundle] - Very good. 80k is what Tales of Vesperia debuted with......Including bundles. Adding in bundles, of which MS most likely made more of, looks like TLR may have sold 95-105k on it's first day. I was hoping for 160,000 it's debut week, but it looks like TLR will do anywhere from 120,000-140,000. Very good for a X360 game, and obviously the best debut ever. Interestingly enough, TLR had the best sellthrough of any game.

And for the record, The Last Remnant is very likely to push X360 hardware between 25,000-35,000. That is, unless Microsoft has made more bundles than we thought. If I was MS, I would of made 50,000 bundles. Unfortunately, it may only have 15-25k.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
