The project was massively ambitious, so it's not really surprising that this game would miss the mark. Perhaps for his next project, Wright will realize that bigger often isn't better, and focus the scope down to something manageable.
Or perhaps he'll take what he's learned from Spore and make Spore 2 a game for the ages.
