I agree that there is poor transitioning as mentioned in the OP. For example, at the end of the creature phase, I gave my creature a bunch powerful parts because I had the DNA or whatever to buy them. But wait... once I pressed the evolution button to the tribal phase nothing about the creature i designed mattered... at all. All that really effects you from phase to phase is how you interact with other organisms/creatures/tribes/civs.
It's still very fun and enjoyable. It's not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. I just don't understand why they give the player this immense level of customization when it becomes irrelevant so quickly.
