Here's my take on it:

Nintendo fans weren't used to being number one.  They are and will be number one this generation.  So they have started acting like toddlers throwing a tantrum when people (Sony Fans) don't praise the Wii and it's success, and third-parties don't support the system... Ask the ubisoft boycotters.
