Metroid Prime 3 was only about a million times easier than it's predecessors. I don't think I died more than 3 times in that game, but spent most of MP1 and MP2 having my ass generously handed to me. MP2 was so difficult at times that it was a year between my buying it and actually finishing it. It frustrated me so badly that I stopped playing it for months at a time. |
Maybe your abilities improved with time. In the original MP I died 2 times: both in the underground area where you fight every flavor of space pirates (it is a very long walk to the next save point and the damage add up). I got killed more than 3 times on a single boss in MP3 (hypermode will kill you if mismanaged). MP3 got 3 difficult levels and I think normal in MP was a breeze compared to veteran in MP3.
