Unless Blu-Ray wipes the floor of both DVD and HD-DVD over the next 4 years (hint: so far, it isn't, DVD is still king), Nintendo will not put their games in BR format. That'd be like handing Sony a big, fat check every time they put out a new game, or worse, sell a console. It's poor business policy.

Which is why Nin's systems still don't do DVD. They don't want to waste money on DVD royalties. They may use a BR or HDDVD like disc a far as capacity goes, but, it will definately not play movies or have logos for any of these.

Agreed. Nintendo is ALL about proprietary formats. Sony is ALSO all about proprietary formats. The difference is, Nintendo doesn't care about marketing their own media type to other companies or consumers. They sell you the game on their own media, and thats it. And you can bet they will pick the cheapest, best, format to sell their games on. (of course N64 is the exception).
