I really see this going on until the international community can bring an end to the fighting diplomatically (yes, through the UN), at which point peace keepers would be sent in to maintain the peace.
I don't think Nato or any other nations would jump in to the armed conflict in this situation.
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
