Mario has an enormous Pedigree, but also a history of repeat fantastic showings with blemishes that may be makeup, or bruises depending on who you ask. If it captures the imagination of new gamers, and the hearts of older gamers... May have a bonus in that it won't be rated M.

Halo is the entire X-Box still, so releasing a bad version in any sense is a nice FU to anyone who supported the system, though at least now there are fans who like other things.

Heavenly Sword is an action successor, and people do like those games, but if it fails to take that meaningful step in games as advertised, no chance it's look alone will save it.

GTA IV has the hardest spot, as the previous itinerations have sold very well, and in fact was one of the largest hands in determining the winner last generation, but it's history is much more blemished.
